Asia Fruit Logistica From September 6-8, ATO Hong Kong hosted a USA pavilion at Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong. The pavilion housed twenty exhibitors, highlighting climate-smart innovations and quality fresh produce from sustainable farming. The United States was the fourth largest supplier of fresh fruits, fresh vegetables, and tree nuts to Hong Kong in 2022 with sales of US$359 million.

September 5-7, 2023  

Restaurant and Bar Hong Kong 2023 Hong Kong is a well-known food paradise with environmentally conscious consumers. The city is not just craving good food, but also food that is natural, premium, and sustainable.  From September 5-7, ATO Hong Kong hosted a USA pavilion and cooking demonstrations at Restaurant & Bar Hong Kong. The pavilion housed three cooperator groups, ASMI, CMI and FoodExport, showcasing a wide range of U.S. products. Visitors were able to discover the versatile U.S. ingredients with limitless possibilities.

March 14, 2023  

“The Science of Souffle” Using U.S. Ingredients On March 14, 2023, ATO, in partnership with the U.S. Consulate’s Public Affairs Section (PAS), hosted a cooking course for local student chefs at the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi).  PAS’s visiting speaker, U.S. astrophysicist and co-host of the Netflix series Baking Impossible, Dr. Hakeem Oluseyi, spoke about the science of baking and his inspiring personal story. Local chef Phyllis Lam led students in preparing their own souffles using U.S. eggs, flour, milk, and cheese, in combination with local flavors such as citrus and black sesame. The U.S. Poultry and Egg Export Council, U.S. Wheat Associates, and the U.S. Dairy Export Council contributed to the event. Students were able to learn the science behind the making of souffles and acquire culinary skills to prepare tasty souffles using quality U.S. ingredients

 

 

December 6, 2022  

Delicious USA Chef Event On December 6, 2022, ATO hosted close to 30 distinguished chefs and guests to enjoy an exclusive menu highlighting the finest quality U.S. food and wine.  Delectable dishes featured Rappahannock River Oysters, Alaska Black Cod, Maine Lobster, Arkansas Cornish Game Hen, California Medium Grain Rice, Snake River Farms Volcano Shank, Artisan Cheeses, and wines from California and Oregon.  Guests were also presented with a Delicious USA “Appreciation Tote” with samples of iconic U.S. foods.

USA Food Fair at SOGO Freshmart The USA Food Fair at SOGO Freshmart was held during October 19-25, 2022 featuring a wide range of high-quality U.S. beef, cheese, dim-sum, fish, pork, sausages, and seafood.

September 7, 2022  

U.S. Food Sustainability at Natural and Organic Asia American farmers, ranchers, and fishers have been dedicated to preserving natural resources while on a mission to feed a growing global population and addressing climate change challenges. USA Pavilion hosted a Sustainability Corner at Natural and Organic Asia (NOA), and ATO Director Jennifer Clever gave a presentation at NOA Academy to share the U.S. tradition on sustainability with trade visitors to the Show.

USA Pavilion at Restaurant and Bar Show During September 6-8, 2022, ATO Hong Kong hosted the largest national pavilion at trade shows “Restaurant and Bar – Gourmet Asia” (RBHK-GA) and “Natural and Organic Asia” (NOA). Acting U.S. Consul General, Colin Crosby, inaugurated the USA Pavilion and joined the first of the many cooking demonstrations. A total of seven U.S. agricultural cooperators and their local representatives were present at the show showcasing cheeses, egg products, meat, Wisconsin ginseng, Alaskan seafood, and many other quality food and beverages from Virginia, Midwest and Northeast USA.

Delicious USA Media Tasting Event On August 31,2022, ATO hosted a media tasting event for the Delicious USA menu promotion at Quiero Más in Central. Acting Consul General Colin Crosby and media representatives had the chance to try the diversity of cuisines created from U.S. ingredients with the innovation of local chefs. More than 30 media representatives and bloggers were invited to the event. U.S. premium ingredients such as U.S. Black cods, cheese, chicken, hanger steak , lobsters, scallop were presented at the event.

USA Fresh Food Promotion at Dairy Farm Stores A promotion was held at over 280 Dairy Farm Stores including Wellcome Supermarkets, Market Place by Jasons and Three Sixty during June 24 – July 21, 2022 featuring a wide range of quality U.S. fresh foods.
